Award-winning artist Wilma J. López first saw a
demonstration of encaustic art or
wax painting in a shopping
center in Maryland in the nineties. Fascinated, she was determined
to teach herself how to paint using this exotic, but ancient medium. Thirty years have passed since Ms. Lopez began painting with encaustic wax.
Since that
time, Wilma has become a nationally renowned encaustic painter who has won numerous
awards on both coasts of the United States.
Ms. Lopez is a member of several regional art associations.
Wilma teaches both beginning and Intermediate level encaustic classes from her home studio.
